True connoisseurs will recognize the Lagonda, perhaps even a rare Series 3 example of Aston Martin's revolutionary model, a car far ahead of its time, with a boldly futuristic character, produced in the 1980's. Immediately striking is the car's futuristic spirit, defined by its angular design and avant-garde technology. Yet a lingering curiosity and intrigue remains, the sense that one has never quite seen this car before. And with good reason. Custom-built by Roos Engineering Ltd in Switzerland this is the unique Shooting Brake version, and delivered to its owner in 2000, completed for the new millennium.

First registered in Switzerland on 27 March 1987, this example was one of only 76 Series 3 cars produced before being acquired in 1996 by its owner, who entrusted it to Beat Roos and his team for a transformation approved by Aston Martin Lagonda S.A. Aston Martin supported the project, helping preserve the Lagonda's identity with factory-supplied spare parts, while also allowing it to be improved. Fifteen years later, Roos resolved its 1980s troubles, effortlessly combining the English luxury of a shooting brake with Swiss excellence.

To retain the original registration document and avoid a new homologation process, the car kept the length of the sedan. During the conversion, the car's mechanical components were removed and overhauled to factory specifications. The engine was completely disassembled and rebuilt with new parts. The automatic transmission was updated to the latest standards of the time and rebuilt with new parts. The engine management computer was replaced and adapted to the engine's output. The electrical system was entirely redone to contemporary standards. The rear shock absorbers were designed specifically for the vehicle.

The windows were custom-made and designed in accordance with homologation regulations. The carpets were also custom-made, and the trim continues into the trunk. The interior was redesigned in Connolly leather and Alcantara. Additional parking and signal lights were integrated into the bumper, ensuring the car remains fully visible from the rear even when the tailgate is open. A safety system was also added to prevent exhaust gases from entering the cabin when the tailgate is open.

Already one of the rarest iterations of Aston Martin's groundbreaking Lagonda, this Series 3 became truly one-of-a-kind through its painstaking transformation and modernization by Roos Engineering. Accompanied by a build book and invoices retracing this conversion, it will undoubtedly capture the attention and interest of collectors and enthusiasts of luxurious English shooting brakes executed with Swiss precision.
