Description

  • Everywhere you look, this Roadster presents itself in exceptionally beautiful condition. Not only the long hood and the paintwork, but also the engine bay, the interior, the underside, and all the details you would normally discover only once the car is up on a lift. This E-Type continues to impress the closer you get.The Jaguar E-Type was introduced in 1961 and caused quite a sensation. It was low, fast, and strikingly modern in its design. The long nose, compact cabin, and distinctive rear end made it completely different from almost everything else on the road at the time. And, in many ways, that is still true more than sixty years later. You do not need to be an expert to recognize an E-Type. Even people with little interest in classic cars often stop and take a closer look.In 1964, the Series 1 received the larger 4.2-liter six-cylinder engine and a fully synchronized manual transmission. The essential character of the E-Type remained intact, but the car became smoother and easier to use.Beneath that enormous forward-hinged hood lies the famous XK inline-six with twin overhead camshafts. It is an engine that not only looks magnificent, but also produces exactly the sound a classic British sports car should. Calm at low rpm, then increasingly enthusiastic as you let it rev. And while you do, you are looking out over what may well be one of the longest hoods ever designed for a two-seat sports car. Parking it for the first time may require just a little confidence. This example dates from 1967 and has been fully restored. The restoration was documented with photographs, and the car is accompanied by an extensive history file, including a Jaguar Heritage Certificate. Color is, of course, always a matter of personal taste. The owner of this Jaguar, however, clearly understood that some combinations suit an E-Type just a little better than others. On this car, the overall result is truly exceptional. Elegant at rest, yet sufficiently sporting the moment you take the wheel. After the restoration, its owners did not simply place it beneath a cover. They used the Jaguar on several journeys and genuinely enjoyed the car. That is exactly what we like to hear. Because no matter how expensive or perfect a restoration may be, an E-Type was ultimately built to be driven. To lower the top early in the morning, bring the six-cylinder engine up to temperature, and deliberately choose a route that is not the shortest one.A 1967 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 4.2 Roadster, fully restored and documented with photographs, history, and a Jaguar Heritage Certificate. A car in truly exceptional condition. This is what happens when restoration becomes a matter of prestige. Interested? Contact Gallery Aaldering and discover this Jaguar for yourself.
