1960 Triumph TR3A

The TR 3 differed from its predecessor only in detail and was introduced in September 1955. 13.377 examples were built. The main changes consisted of: 10 hp more power than the TR2. Larger carburetors. Improved cylinder head. A different grille (the TR2 only had a 'gaping hole'). Overdrive available at extra cost. Rear seat available at extra cost. From 1956: Disc brakes on the front wheels. Triumph TR 3A In the autumn of 1957, the 'new model' appeared; although there were no structural changes, it was given a different name: TR 3a, with the main changes being: Redesigned front end. Smaller headlights. Wide grille. Door handles on the outside (previously the doors could only be opened from the inside, or from the outside through the folding window). Trunk lid handle (instead of two cheap latches). The car was modernized in terms of finish and instruments. 58.309 units of this model were produced until 1962.
