Description

When Porsche introduced the successor to the 996 in 2004 it was immediately clear what the intention was. The 996 had brought the 911 into a new era, but some enthusiasts felt that a few classic elements were missing. Porsche listened. The new 997 therefore returned to the recognizable round headlights that strongly recall earlier generations of the 911. At the same time the car was further developed in almost every respect.

The body became wider, the lines sharper and the interior once again reflected the atmosphere of the classic 911 models. The result remained unmistakably a modern sports car, but one that clearly stood within the long tradition of Porsche.

Behind the rear lid remained the well known six cylinder boxer engine. In the Carrera S the displacement was increased to 3.8 liters, providing additional power and an even sharper throttle response. Porsche combined this with a sport suspension and larger wheels, giving the Carrera S a noticeably more dynamic driving experience than the standard Carrera. It is exactly the formula many Porsche enthusiasts appreciate: sufficient comfort for everyday driving while always retaining the sense that there is more available the moment you press the accelerator.

That brings us to the example offered here. This Porsche 911 Carrera S Coupe is finished in Arctic Silver combined with a dark blue leather interior. A classic and elegant combination that suits the character of the car perfectly.

What makes this 997 especially attractive for the enthusiast is its configuration. This Carrera S is equipped with the manual transmission. For many drivers this is exactly how a 911 should be experienced: direct, mechanical and offering a strong sense of control.

In addition this Porsche comes with a documented service history, including invoices and the original folder with all booklets carefully stamped. Details like these often provide an excellent indication of how carefully a car has been treated throughout the years. With a Porsche this is naturally very important.

This particular example also remains in its original paint and presents itself in very well cared for condition. The bodywork looks beautiful, the wheels remain in excellent shape and the interior is in outstanding condition. Please review the photographs on our website for a detailed impression.

All things considered this is a Porsche 997 Carrera S exactly as many enthusiasts prefer to see it: a coupe, rear wheel drive, manual transmission and finished in a timeless color combination. A Porsche that feels just as comfortable during a relaxed drive as it does on a spirited journey along winding roads. In short exactly as a 911 was meant to be.
