Originally discovered after spending years hidden away in a barn, this 1980 Land Rover Series III has undergone an exceptional restoration that reflects countless hours of dedication, craftsmanship and mechanical expertise.

Every component was removed, inspected and either restored or replaced where necessary, preserving the originality of the vehicle while ensuring it is ready for many decades to come. At its heart sits a fully rebuilt 2.3-litre diesel engine that has covered fewer than 50 miles since completion, while the gearbox has been carefully inspected and serviced to complement the mechanical rebuild.

A brand-new galvanised chassis provides the perfect foundation, accompanied by new brakes, brake pipes, servo, bearings, doors, floor sections and seating. Stainless steel fittings have been used throughout, ensuring both durability and attention to detail that will stand the test of time.

Accompanying the vehicle is a comprehensive history file containing extensive invoices and receipts documenting every stage of the restoration. Its exceptional standard has also been recognised by Practical Classics Magazine, where it was featured as an outstanding example of classic Land Rover restoration.

Presented in timeless Bronze Green with a Limestone roof, this is far more than a restored Series III. It is a Land Rover rebuilt with the intention of preserving one of Britain’s greatest automotive icons for generations to come.

This Land Rover has already lived more than one life.

Long before its restoration began, it had quietly disappeared from view, spending years hidden away in a barn. For many, that would have been the end of the story. Instead, it became the beginning of something extraordinary.

Its owner didn’t set out to build a showpiece. The goal was much simpler: save a Land Rover properly. Every part removed, every decision carefully considered and every hour invested was driven by a genuine respect for what this vehicle represented. Wherever possible, original components were restored rather than replaced, allowing the character of the Series III to remain intact while giving it a new future.

Today, it’s impossible not to admire the craftsmanship. The beautifully rebuilt engine, the galvanised chassis, the attention to the smallest details and the quality of the finish all speak for themselves. Yet what really makes this Land Rover special isn’t the list of new parts or the magazine feature—it’s the dedication behind every single one of them.

Now, with its restoration complete, it deserves to return to what it was always built for. Weekend adventures. Quiet country lanes. Classic shows. Conversations with strangers who can’t help but stop and admire it.

The next owner won’t simply be buying a Land Rover.

They’ll be becoming part of a story that has already spanned decades—and helping to write the chapters still to come.
