Description

A Land Rover Defender 90 is usually bought to be used. Mud, gravel, bad roads, trailers, dogs, tools—basically everything other vehicles would rather avoid. And that is exactly why it is so enjoyable to come across one that has lived a very different kind of life. This 2013 Defender was primarily used as a hobby vehicle.

Just one owner from new, 131,000 kilometers covered, and always maintained by the official Land Rover dealer. The original books are present and properly stamped, making the history easy to follow.

This Defender is finished in Santorini Black with a black leather interior. A combination that gives the Defender a slightly more refined appearance without taking away any of its character. It also sits on the familiar Boost Alloy wheels and is equipped with Side Protection Runners, a folding rear step, and an adjustable tow bar. Exactly the kind of options that suit a 90 Station Wagon: functional, solid, and without unnecessary decoration. What stands out most, however, is the condition.

This vehicle was not used as an off-road workhorse, and you can tell in every respect. The body presents in exceptionally well-cared-for condition, the interior is neat, and the details tell the same story. The seats, trim, controls, and load area all show that this Defender has had a far easier life than many of its counterparts.

The classic driving position is, of course, still very much there. Upright, close to the door, with that enormous sense of visibility ahead of you. The typical Defender controls and rugged character are fully present as well. But precisely because this example has remained so tidy, you get to enjoy all of that without the feeling that the vehicle has just been dragged through a mud pit.

The generation to which this Defender belongs also represents one of the final development stages of the original concept. From model year 2012 onward, the Defender received the 2.2-liter diesel engine combined with the familiar six-speed transmission, while the basic formula remained virtually unchanged: ladder-frame chassis, permanent four-wheel drive, and that unmistakably angular body. That is exactly why the Defender holds such appeal. It does not try to be modern or fashionable. It is simply built around an idea that worked for decades.

And this example perhaps shows just how beautifully a Defender can age when it has been treated as an enthusiast's vehicle from day one. One owner. Full dealer history. Santorini Black. No hard off-road use. In many ways, exactly the Defender 90 you hope to find. Contact Gallery Aaldering today.
