1969 Morris MINOR 1000

Estimated Price: £10,000 - £12,000

The Morris Minor 1000 Traveller remains one of Britain’s most recognisable post-war family cars, combining practical estate car usability with distinctive ash-framed construction, and this 1969 example has been family-owned since 1986 with eight years current ownership, and just three former registered keepers

First registered on 04/02/1969, the car is well presented throughout with the vendor advising that the paintwork remains excellent following its restoration. The car has been lightly used over the last seven years and stored in a dehumidified garage under an indoor cover during the winter months

80,393 miles indicated at the time of cataloguing. Powered by the dependable 1,098cc A-Series engine coupled to a manual gearbox, both engine and gearbox were overhauled during the refurbishment works, with the car described by the vendor as very reliable in use and never having broken down during current ownership

The restoration was carried out with the intention of keeping the car as close to factory specification as possible, the only upgrades being the addition of door-mounted wing mirrors, inertia-reel front seat belts, an alternator replacing the dynamo and more powerful headlights

Refurbishment works commenced in April 2017 and were completed in June 2018 by a Morris Minor specialist at a cost of £25,000, with many original parts retained wherever possible

The Morris has since been regularly maintained by a Warwickshire garage and exhibited at the Wythall Bus Museum

Supplied with invoices detailing the restoration costs, extensive photographic records of the refurbishment works and the original 1986 purchase receipt showing the car was acquired by our vendor’s brother for £525
